Name:  Kendra (Wessels) Lindell1489082_10151885651629825_245593196_n

Title: Promotions and Marketing Coordinator

Business: McMinnville Downtown Association

Location: McMinnville

City you live in: Amity

First Job: Farmer John’s Produce (McMinnville)

Dream Job: Since I’m being asked in December, I would say in Santa’s Workshop. Any other time of the year I would say an artist (one who’s good enough to make money making art).

Favorite Happy Hour/Tasting Room/Bar in the Valley: Brooks Winery, especially since it’s right down the road from my house.

Best Restaurant in the Valley: Nick’s (Italian Cafe)

Finish this sentence…”I know this makes me sound old but…” I’m ready to leave the bars by 10pm (when I manage to make it out).

The worst movie I have ever seen is… Milo and Otis (which is bizarre because I adore animals. Although it has been a while, I should probably give it another shot).

Advice for my high-school self:  Relax.

Group/organization/demographic you are most driven to help: Local farms, small business and artists

When I have a day off I… love to be home, growing things, making things, fermenting things and exploring in the woods.

When I have an out-of-town visitor, the top 3 things they should do in Yamhill Valley are… 1) Go wine tasting (duh),  2) take a stroll down Third Street in Mac and find somewhere to grab a bite  3) Go see the monkeys at Alfs

Yamhill Valley really needs… a nice music venue for larger concerts

Kendra Lindell (I met her as Wessels) has had leadership in her bones as long as I can remember.  She is down-to-earth, extremely community-minded, and has an infectious laugh and smile.  Kendra is an amazing friend, creative, and often comes up with ways to make processes easier and more efficient.  In high school, she spent many hours finding ways to raise money for the needy.  Valograms, events, bake sales, penny drives…she ran them all with success.  Kendra has always struck me as professional, warm-hearted, and wise beyond her years.  She is currently pursuing many of her passions and models what a personal-life/business-life balance can look like.  See her in Mac or at one of her Yamhill Valley Heritage Project events.
